The Bluebird Poem Verses
The Bluebird of happiness sang high above
Bringing joy to a dark world of strife
Its soft wings protected and nurtured our love
And its song was the song of our life
Now the wonderful world where our Bluebird belonged
A sad silent world has become
As that beautiful bird finished singing his song
And the white Dove of God took you home
Bringing joy to a dark world of strife
Its soft wings protected and nurtured our love
And its song was the song of our life
Now the wonderful world where our Bluebird belonged
A sad silent world has become
As that beautiful bird finished singing his song
And the white Dove of God took you home

About the poem
This poem is about the loss of a loved one and the metaphor of the bluebird of happiness. The speaker describes how the bluebird brought joy and protected their love. However, the bluebird's song has now ended as the loved one has passed away, and the world is now sad and silent. The speaker believes that the loved one has gone to be with God, represented by the white Dove, and that their memory will continue to bring happiness and comfort to those left behind.
The Structure of Poem
The poem consists of a single stanza composed of five lines. It describes the "Bluebird of happiness" that once brought joy to a dark world of strife and how its song was the song of the author's life. However, the Bluebird's world has become sad and silent now that the author's loved one has passed away, and the "white Dove of God" has taken them home. The poem has a simple rhyme scheme, with the first and third lines rhyming with each other, and the second, fourth, and fifth lines rhyming with each other.
