Let Me Go Poem Verses

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not for long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that once we shared
Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all part of the master plan
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know.
Laugh at all the things we used to do
Miss me, but let me go.

About the poem

This poem is about accepting death as a natural part of life and not mourning excessively for the person who has passed away. The speaker expresses a desire for a celebration of life rather than a mournful funeral, asking loved ones not to cry for their "soul set free." The poem encourages the reader to cherish the memories of the deceased and to remember the love that was shared. The speaker also reminds the reader that death is a journey everyone must take, and that the deceased person has moved on to their next stage in the "master plan" of life.

The Structure of Poem

The poem has a simple structure and a regular rhyme scheme. It consists of four stanzas, each with four lines. The first and third lines of each stanza rhyme, while the second and fourth lines rhyme with each other. The poem is written in a comforting tone and encourages the reader to let go of their grief and move on with their life, while still cherishing the memories of the person they have lost. The final stanza reminds the reader to find solace in the memories of their loved one and to laugh at the happy times they shared together.
